Take the runway to a fun position supporting international travelers

As an Airline Customer Service Agent, you'll enjoy paid training, then work as an important member of our SFO Customer Service team, supporting at least one international airline client. Pacific Aviation is responsible for ground handling – all the services performed for an airline and its passengers while the airplane is on the ground. That means you'll assist passengers in the terminal as they move from ticketing to boarding or from arrival to baggage claim. International flights are large – 200-300 passengers – so it's a busy job.  Quick question for you - click here

Your day will begin with a start-up meeting followed by two hours in ticketing and check-in, then a break. This will be followed by work at the gate, where you could be assigned to any ground handling duty. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Ticketing and check-in: Assisting passengers with checking in, tagging luggage, ticketing, managing reservations, handling payments, and providing directions to departure gates. Checking the necessary documentation and IDs to ensure each passenger has everything they need to be safely admitted to their destination.

  • Gate agent: Once all passengers have been checked in, the ticket counter closes and agents move to the departure gates. At the gates, agents will assist in the lobby area, greeting passengers and directing them to the correct line. Lobby agents will also assist in the tagging of carry-ons, and answer passengers' questions. Once it is time to start boarding, agents are responsible for processing and boarding passengers. This includes making boarding announcements, scanning boarding passes, checking government IDs, communicating with flight crew about any pending items, and completing any paperwork or tasks as needed before the flight takes off.

  • Arrivals: During arrival shifts, agents help with the landing flight, meeting and escorting passengers to the Federal Inspection Service area where they will clear customs. Agents may assist Customs and Border Protection with translation, and ensure that all passengers know where to pick up their luggage. If there is any missing or lost luggage, agents help file the reports for the passengers. Agents will also check in with Customs if they are holding any passengers for further questioning. If so, our agents will also gather their bags and bring them to the baggage hold area.
Note: This description is intended to give you a general overview of the position and is not an exhaustive listing of duties and responsibilities.
